History

Kinky World of Hair is a proudly South African established business. Kinky Hair has been supplying human hair, synthetic wefted pieces, wigs, add on’s, hair extensions and hair braids to the South African Consumer since 1971. We offer employment to over 400 permanent and casual employees in sales, marketing, distribution and manufacturing.

Our first store opened its doors in Gauteng in 1971. To date Kinky trades out of 27 Retail stores predominantly in Gauteng and Kwa Zulu Natal.

Our retail shops are vibrant, up market and trendy and we are constantly looking at innovative ways to improve and modernize our new and existing stores. Our shops stock a wide variety of styles and colours, allowing consumers the ability to “choose the look” they want.

To improve the accessibility of our product, Kinky distributes to wholesalers and Cash n Carry’s throughout South Africa and neighboring African Countries. We are continuously looking for reliable channels of distribution!

Our business supports and compliments the Hair Salon Industry as we supply the hair-pieces used by them. Not only does Kinky provide employment to those directly employed by their shops and factories but we also assist and encourage individuals who operate home-based businesses.

Our dry hair products are well known for quality and reliability as we only stock long lasting, good quality fibers. We have a team that is knowledgeable and dedicated to bringing the best fashionable products to market.

In April 2008, Kinky World of Hair became a fully owned subsidiary of Godrej Consumer Products Limited www.godrejcp.com
